Quo Vadis is a 1951 epic film adapted from Henryk Sienkiewicz classic 1896 novel Quo Vadis.
The film stars Robert Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Leo Genn, Peter Ustinov, with Patricia Laffan, Finlay Currie, Felix Aylmer and Abraham Sofaer. Sophia Loren was cast in the movie as an (uncredited) extra.
Nominated for 8 Oscars. Another 2 wins & 2 nominations
Sophia Loren has an unbilled bit part as a slave girl. While not her first film, it was her first American film, although it was shot in Italy.
Originally cast in 1949 with Elizabeth Taylor as Lygia and Gregory Peck as Marcus Vinicus. But as the production changed hands the following year, the roles were recast with Deborah Kerr and Robert Taylor.
